Marvin E. Murphy, Sr

Marvin E. Murphy, Sr., 60, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born, August 1, 1951 in Shelbyville, he was the son of Eddie W. and Iona E. (Reed) Murphy. He had worked for J Melton Trucking in Glenwood, Indiana. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was married to Alice A. Smith on September 27, 1969 and she survives. He is also survived by one son, Marvin E. (Annette Brogan) Murphy II, Greensburg; one daughter, Melanie (Jerry) Nobbe, Greensburg; three brothers, Lowell Thomas Murphy, Greensburg, Curtis R. Murphy, Greensburg, James Murphy, South Haven, Mi.; three sisters, Mildred Faye Eldridge, Hallie, Ky., Nancy Jean Morrow, Greensburg, Norma Christine Mathis, Greensburg; six grandchildren, Dylane Nobbe, Dravin Creed Murphy, Alicia Michela Nobbe, Katie Sue Nobbe, Nakecia Michelle Shafer, Marvin E. Murphy III. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William R. Murphy. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funerals and Cremations in Greensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the funeral home with Rev. Perry Cook officiating. Interment will be held in the South Park Cemetery in Greensburg, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the family.
