Georgiana C. "Georgie" Veerkamp

Georgiana C. “Georgie” Veerkamp, 75, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Greensburg. Born, March 9, 1938 in Greensburg, Indiana, she was the daughter of Clarence J. and Mary C. "Estell" (Thewes) Veerkamp. Georgie was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She had several jobs over her life, her most recent being In-Home Childcare. Georgie is survived by 3 brothers; Chuck Veerkamp, Greensburg, Dale Veerkamp, Greensburg, Bob Veerkamp, Greensburg, 7 sisters; Mary Roseberry, Greensburg, Betty (and the late John) Hudnall, Shelbyville, Joyce (Marvin) Hahn, Batesville, Gladys Catron, Greensburg, Helen (Chauncey) Robbins, Pendleton, IN, Dianna (Sheldon) Roberts, Greensburg, Sharon Veerkamp, Greensburg, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother; Clarence “Huck” Veerkamp, Jr., one sister; Eleanora Bartholomew, 3 nephews; Loren Hudnall, Jeff Roseberry, Dwight Roseberry, and one niece; Pam Cummingor. Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg, with a rosary service starting at 3:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greensburg with Rev. John Meyer officiating. Interment will be held in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Greensburg, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the Lukemia Society or the American Heart Association.
