Dorothy “Dot” M. Oliger, 85, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Morning Breeze Nursing Home in Greensburg.
Born, May 24, 1928 in Batesville, she was the daughter of Theodore and Johanna (Bramlage) Wanstrath.
Dorothy graduated from Batesville High School and went to the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing, where she became a registered nurse. She worked for Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville, Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg, Heritage House Nursing Home in Greensburg, she was a former Administrator for Decatur County Memorial Hospital and she served on the Hospital Board for 10 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg, the Daughters of Isabella, the DCMH Ladies Auxiliary, and the Allied Health Organization; Breast Cancer Support Group.
Dorothy married Paul Oliger on October 5, 1957 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville, and he preceded her in death on January 25, 1993.
She is survived by two sons; Tom (Suzanne) Oliger, Carmel, IN, Ted (Debbi) Oliger, Plano, TX, one daughter; Teresa (Steve) Martinko, Canfield, OH, and 6 grandchildren; Audrey, Jake, & Ellison Oliger, Paul R. Oliger, and Megan & Sara Martinko, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers; Louis & Norman Wanstrath.
Visitation will be from 1-5:00 p.m. Sunday, June 30 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg with a rosary service starting at 12:30 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 1 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. John Meyer officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg.
Memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s Church Building Fund.
