William E. Buening, 76, Greensburg, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg.
Born, January 28, 1937 in Decatur County, Indiana, he was the son of Ferd J. and Ida H. (Obermeyer) Buening.
He was a farmer and tool and die maker. He was a graduate of Napoleon High School, a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greensburg and a member of the Hoosier Carvers Club.
He was married to Wilma Brancamp on June 24, 1958 and she survives.
He is also survived by two sons, Michael (Lisa) Buening, Franklin, Kenneth (Nancy) Buening, Greensburg; three daughters, Theresa Caffee, Greensburg, Janet (Bob) Henry, Greensburg, Katrina (Rickey) Applegate, North Vernon; four brothers, Carl (Marilyn) Buening, Greensburg, Maurice (Mary Jane) Buening, Greensburg, Paul (Anna) Buening, Greensburg, James (Sue) Buening, Cicero; two sisters, Joann (Ed) Burkhart, Greensburg, Rita (Jim) Meyer, Greensburg; eighteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two son-in-laws, Junior Bowling and Bill Caffee.
Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A public rosary for family and friends will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 16, 2013 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greensburg with Rev. John Meyer officiating.
Interment will be held in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Millhousen, Indiana.
Memorials may be made to the St. Mary's Building Fund or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
