James R. Cuskaden, 78, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2013 at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg.
He was born on February 4, 1935 in Shelby County, Indiana to Robert Cuskaden and Nora Favors Cuskaden. He worked for the State of Indiana for several years. He was married to Linda R. Powell on August 28, 1970 and she survives along with a son David Cuskaden and daughters; Kristen Cuskaden, Greensburg, Jamie Cuskaden, Indianapolis, Jodie (David) Sherrier, Colorado, Julie Wheeler, Indianapolis, and brother William Cherry, Florida and sister, Margie Woodard Black, Evansville and several grandchildren and great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Jim graduated from Greensburg High School in 1953 and was a star basketball player. He was a member of First Christian Church and a social member of the American Legion and enjoyed playing golf. He was preceded in death by his parents and Sisters; Marjorie Vanderbur and Martha Hoffman and Brothers Robert Cherry, George Cherry, Lloyd Cuskaden, Bobby Cuskaden, Everett Cuskaden. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2013 from 10:00 to 11:00 am. at the First Christian Church in Greensburg and a Memorial service at 11:00 A.M. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the funeral home to help the family with funeral expenses. Porter-Oliger-Pearson funeral home has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
