Joseph M. Maccrae

Joseph M. MacCrae, 93, Greensburg, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. Born, April 25, 1920 in Gourock, Scotland, he was the son of Donald and Sara (Moore) MacCrae. Joseph was a Veteran of World War II serving in the Army. He had lived in Vero Beach, Florida for several years before moving to Greensburg. He retired from Merck Pharmaceuticals in Vero Beach in 1986. He was a member of the Community Church in Greensburg. He was also a member of the American Legion, the Masonic Lodge, and the Scottish Society of Florida. Joseph was very proud of his Scottish heritage. He was married to Frankie T. Taylor on June 10, 2002 and she survives. He is also survived by four nephews, Donald MacCrae, Douglas MacCrae, Scott Dempsey, and Lee Dempsey. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Archie MacCrae; one sister, Margaret Dempsey. There will be no public services. Entombment will be held at a later date in Vero Beach, Florida.
