Dorothy E. Smith

Dorothy E. Smith, 91, passed away at The Hospice House in The Villages, Florida on Wednesday, January 15, 2014. She was born in Greensburg on October 19, 1922 to Fred and Frances (Jansen) Klene. Dorothy was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was retired from Crown Zellerbach where she worked for 15 years. Dorothy was married to Hurshell Smith on January 29, 1944 and he preceded her in death on December 20, 2000. Dorothy is survived by one son; Alton Smith, Milroy, one daughter; Rita Smith, Lady Lake, Florida, two grandchildren, Kevin Ray Smith, Tina Smith, and two great-grandchildren; Kevin Ray Smith, Jr., and Brittany Smith, one great-great granddaughter; Hailey Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son; Hurshell Smith, 7 brothers; George, Bill, Fred, Ralph, Orville, Stanley, and John Klene, and one sister; Dolores Dwenger. Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. Friday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A public rosary service will be held at 3:30 pm on Friday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg with Rev. John Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Memorials can be made to hospice.
