Annabelle C. Starke

Annabelle C. Starke, 87, Westport,  Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Morning Breeze in Greensburg. Born August 13, 1926 in Batesville, Indiana, she was the daughter of Gus and Ida (Wissel) Schumacher.   Annabelle helped her husband run the farm.  She worked for several years cleaning houses.  Later in life, along with her husband, she ran several flea markets in the area. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Millhousen and was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the church. She was married to Vincent P. Starke, Jr. on April 9, 1947 and he preceded her in death on January 7, 1997. She is survived by her two sons, Charlie (Linda) Starke, Rushville, Dale (Rhonda) Starke, Greensburg; one daughter, Barb McLaughlin, Greensburg; two brothers, Paul Schumacher, Greensburg, Bob Schumacher, Florida; eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; one brother, Gary Schumacher; two great grandchildren, Kortney Snyder, Devin Lawler. A public rosary for family and friends will be held on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg and from 9-10:00 a.m. Friday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Millhousen. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2014 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Millhousen with Rev. Bill Turner officiating. Interment will be held in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg. Memorials may be made to the Millhousen Volunteer Fire Department.
