Mary M. Fruchtnicht

Mary M. Fruchtnicht, 84, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Greensburg.  Born on April 15, 1929 in Decatur County, Mary was the daughter of Harry and Ruth (Straber) Hunteman.  Mary graduated from St. Paul High School in 1947.  She was married to Leo J. Fruchtnicht in Greensburg on October 6, 1951.  Mary was a homemaker and helped on the family farm, where she and Leo raised their 4 children.  Mary is survived by her husband; Leo Fruchtnicht, Greensburg, 3 sons; Kenneth Fruchtnicht, Greensburg, Richard (Connie) Fruchtnicht, Greensburg, Danny (Joni) Fruchtnicht, Greensburg, 1 daughter; Ruth (John) Conner, Carmel, 1 sister; Margaret Hunter, Greensburg, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and 3 sisters; Helen Gunter, Dorothy Brown, and Florence Hunteman.  Visitation will be held at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home on Friday, April 4, 2014 from 5-8:00 p.m.  Funeral Services will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Greensburg on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Napoleon.  Memorials can be made to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
