Ralph J. Hodapp, 80, Greensburg, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at his residence.
Born, November 15, 1933 in Decatur County, Indiana, he was the son of Lawrence and Clara (Meyer) Hodapp.
Ralph graduated from Sandusky High School and then entered the Navy serving on the USS lake Champlain. When returning home he worked for the next 45 years as a home builder, building over 50 custom homes in the area. He was with Geis & Hodapp from 1962-1994.
He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church where he was an usher for many years. He was also a member of the Greensburg Country Club, the American Legion, a 50 year member of the Knights of Columbus where he also served as a Columbian. He was a past president of the Southeastern Homebuilders Association.
Ralph enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening and watching Purdue basketball.
He was married to Bonnie Werner on January 15, 1966 and she survives.
He is also survived by one daughter, Susan Hodapp, Chicago; one son, David (Kathy) Hodapp, Columbus; one sister, Alvina (Kenneth) Kress, Greensburg; one brother-in-law, Ralph Hermesch, Greensburg; two grandchildren, Brandon and Justin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Marie Hermesch, Dolores Hodapp.
Visitation will be from 3-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A public rosary for family and friends will be prayed at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greensburg with Rev. John Meyer officiating.
Interment will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg, Indiana.
Memorials may be made to the St. Mary's Church Building Fund or to the Hansen Center in Batesville.
