Nellie B. Friend

Nellie B. Friend, 90, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at Decatur County Memorial Hospital.  Nellie was born in Owsley County, Kentucky on July 27, 1925 to Arthur and Elva Baker.  She was a member of the First Church of God in Greensburg.  Nellie was married to Delbert McIntosh in 1943 and he preceded her in death on January 30, 1986. She then married Ralston Friend and he preceded her in death on December 4, 1996.  Nellie is survived by three children; Hollis McIntosh, Shelbyville, Rita McIntosh Hilt, Greensburg, and Marilyn McIntosh DeLay, Colorado. She was the oldest of 12 children, and 6 are surviving. Nellie also has 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, son; Gary McIntosh, step-sons; James and Paul McIntosh, and 5 brothers and sisters.  Visitation will be from 9-11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg with Funeral Services to follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. George Mitchell officiating.  Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery.  Memorials can be made to the donor’s choice through the funeral home.
