Barbara A. Risse

Barbara Ann (Berkemeier) Risse, age 56, of Greensburg, Indiana, passed away on July 23, 2025. She was born on May 2, 1969, to Richard and Carolyn (McDonald) Berkemeier.

Barbara graduated from North Decatur High School in 1987 and spent most of her career working in the banking industry. On January 5, 2000, she married Patrick Buzard, who preceded her in death on May 24, 2011. She later married Robert Risse on July 31, 2024. Robert passed away shortly after Barbara, on July 23, 2025.

Barbara is survived by her parents, Richard and Carolyn Berkemeier; her son, Derrick; her brother, John (Jama) Berkemeier; her nephew, Liam Berkemeier; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM, also at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Greensburg Decatur County Animal Shelter in Barbara’s memory.
