Candace Renee Barnes

Candance Renee Barnes, 36, of Greensburg, passed away on October 9, 2026, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on April 21, 1990, in Indianapolis.

Candance attended Greenfield Central High School, where she was a member of the dance team for several years. She went on to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and began pursuing her nursing degree before health concerns required her to put her education on hold. She also worked in customer service at Dorel Juvenile Products for several years.

In her free time, Candance enjoyed watching reality television, creating content on Facebook, and sharing reviews on TikTok. She enjoyed connecting with others through social media and sharing her interests with those who followed her.

Candance is survived by her mother and father, Kimberley (Urban) Johannigman; her sister, Stephanie Barnes; her brother, Steven Slate; her nephews, Andy (Amber) Slate, Everett Slate, and London Slate; her great-nieces, Violet Slate, Autumn Adkins, and Jaylin Adkins; her uncle, Rodger (Teresa) Barnes; her aunt, Laurie Johannigman; and several other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Wanda and Jasper Barnes; her grandfather, Urban Johannigman Sr.; and her uncle, Kevin Barnes.

A Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. Visitation will follow from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Millhousen. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.
