Crystal Lee Moody

Crystal Lee (Caffee) Moody, 43, was born on November 8, 1981, in Greensburg, IN, and passed away on September 15, 2025, at 11:42 p.m. at Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville, IN, surrounded by her loving family.

She will be deeply missed by her parents: her father, Alfred Caffee of Greensburg, IN, and her mother, Fanny McDaniel of Greensburg, IN; her sister, Andrea (Jeff) Edwards of Batesville, IN; her beloved chihuahua, Febie; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Crystal was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Chester and Gladys Caffee; her maternal grandparents, John Henry and Nanny McDaniel; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A quirky free spirit with the sweetest soul, Crystal was the life of every party and had a heart full of love for all furry creatures—especially her cats and dogs. She found joy in spending time with friends and family, creating art, listening to music, gardening, watching cooking shows, and crafting her own recipes. She always had a special craving for lemons.

Crystal attended Batesville High School and worked as a cook in several local restaurants, where she shared her love for food and creativity with others.

Per Crystal’s wishes, she will be cremated. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local Humane Society or animal shelter in her honor.
