Harry Weinkauf, 94, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, May 24, 2026. He was born on May 10, 1932, in Fairmont, MN, the son of Henry and Rose Weinkauf.
Harry was an avid fisherman, gardener, beekeeper, and outdoorsman. He was a constant presence in the lives of his grandchildren and cherished the company of his friends. He served his country as a proud U.S. Marine during the Korean War, was a member of the Local 49ers Union, and lived out a devout Christian faith throughout his life.
He is survived by his children, James (Gail) Weinkauf, Candice (Rodney) Johnson, and Holly (Miguel) Fernandez; his grandchildren Julia (Joe) Novik, Peter (Colleen) Weinkauf, Sara (Joe) Cihon, Micah (Jill) Johnson, Cassandra (Jake) Murphy, Gideon (Erin) Johnson, Aaron (Katie) Johnson, Jennifer (Austin) Wright, Jonathan (Alysha) Leroux, Danielle (David) Amiss, Stephanie (Ben) Priddy, and Sami (Tony) Harris. He was blessed to know and love his many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Rose; his wives Joanne (Bohrer) Weinkauf and Karen (Hathaway) Weinkauf; his brothers Arnold, Larry, and Merv; and his granddaughter, Robyn Leroux.
A committal service with military honors will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, located at 2501 North Dixie Blvd, Radcliff, KY 40160. He will be laid to rest in the presence of his family and loved ones.
