Helen Faye Carson, 94, of New Point, passed away on February 24, 2026, at Aspen Place in Greensburg, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 6, 1932, in Greensburg, Indiana, the daughter of Morton and Carrie (Lawrence) Haley.
On November 28, 1953, Helen married Clarence Eugene Carson, and the two shared a devoted life together until his passing in 2016. Helen was a homemaker throughout her life, dedicating herself fully to caring for her family and creating a warm, welcoming home.
She was a faithful and longtime member of New Point Christian Church, where she served in many roles over the years. Helen was active in Sunday School, helped with Vacation Bible School, participated in the Women’s Group, and served as a deaconess. Her faith, service, and kindness touched many lives within the church community.
Helen enjoyed a wide range of hobbies and passions. She loved cheering on IU basketball, baking for her family, playing the piano, writing short stories and poems, painting, and tending to her flowers. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family.
She is survived by her son, Mark (Patty) Carson; daughters, Debra (David) Yeggy and Diane (Jesus) Celaya; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her 10 siblings.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, at New Point Christian Church from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m., also at the church. Burial will take place at Rossburg Cemetery.
