Greensburg

Maxine L. Lehman, 92, of Greensburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on May 10, 2025. Born on October 16, 1932, in Decatur County, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Flossie (Fitch) Hutchison.

Maxine dedicated 36 years of her life to Delta Faucet, where she worked until her retirement in 1997. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Greensburg, where her faith was an important part of her life.

She was a woman of quiet strength and simple joys, who loved reading, watching her favorite game shows, and playing cards with friends at the Senior Citizens Center. Her heart belonged to her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her great-great-grandchild, Marlowe Maxine Abney, who was born just one week before her passing. Maxine also shared a special bond with her beloved canine companion, Wesley, with whom she enjoyed many walks over the years.

Maxine is survived by her daughter, Carlene (Timothy) Byrd; her grandchildren: Lori (Pat) Trainor, Scott (Melissa) Lozier, Trent (Jenny) Green, Matt (Maggie) Lozier, and Blake (Alayna) Byrd; her great-grandchildren: Montana (Chris), AJ (Paige), Hunter, Evan, Scotty, Lily, Rowan, and Willow; and her great-great-grandchild, Marlowe Maxine Abney.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Brenda Landwehr, and four siblings.

A private family graveside service was held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at South Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Maxine's legacy of love, faith, and warmth will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
