Patricia Blair-Saylor

Patricia Blair-Saylor, gifted to this world and given the name Patricia Morin, was born on January 7, 1965, to Jeanette Morin and Gerald Morin, in Hartford Connecticut. After her graduation from high school, she eventually settled into a career working clerical roles in the insurance industry, where she would remain employed for the better part of two decades of her life. During her time there, she would meet and marry Bruce Blair, with whom she would have her only biological child, Kevin Blair.

The two would separate for a variety of reasons, and Patricia would continue to raise her son, eventually meeting Norman Saylor, with whom she would fall madly in love. The two would marry, and she would choose to hyphenate her surname, receiving along with Norman’s surname the gift of many additional children. Norman had, from his own first marriage, been blessed with the births of Eddie Saylor, Laural Saylor, Robert Saylor, Billy Saylor, and Johnny Saylor. Patricia easily came to love them all deeply, her kind heart having more than enough room to welcome them in, even if they lived with their own mother.

Patricia and Norman would have many happy years together, during which, despite financial and medical struggles due to her developing several chronic health conditions, they did their best to support each other lovingly. Living across the street from one of her brothers at the time, her nephew, Michael Morin, would grow close to the family, spending a great deal of time in their home, and becoming by Patricia’s own reckoning, like a son to her. It was during this time that many of their children graduated schooling and moved onto their own lives, some starting families of their own, blessing the couple with many wonderful grandchildren. In 2014, wishing to be closer to Patricia’s ailing mother, they would move to Titusville, Florida. In late 2021, however, Norman would pass away after suffering a major coronary event.

Patricia would carry on as best she could, supporting everyone around her, though she missed her husband dearly. She was kind enough to provide shelter for her two brothers, Gerald N. Morin Jr. and Ronald Morin, rather than allow them to become homeless, despite their fractured relationships. In early 2026, though, after a slow but steady decline in her own health, she would suffer a fall, which precipitated a more rapid decline, leading to her passing, peacefully in her sleep, in the early morning of Sunday, September 13, 2026, while under the compassionate care of St. Francis Hospice workers and her neighbors Mary Jo Denton and Eric Leir, who had done their best to make sure she was comfortable, cared for, and shown continued love and support in her final weeks.

She lives on in the memory of every life she touched with her kindness, including her son, all of Norman’s children, a great many grandchildren, her nephew Michael Morin, Michael’s siblings, her own mother Janette, and every person who knew her well enough to know that her heart had room enough for them all. Her grandchildren include Karlee, Parker, Levi, Johnathan, Zachary, Alexis, Everly, Hayden, Finnegan, Rue, Margaret, Madyson, Presston, and Savannah.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home, 302 N. Franklin St., Greensburg, Indiana 47240. Friends may gather with the family for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 p.m.
