Penny Marie Jackson

Penny Marie Jackson, 54, of North Vernon, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Born, May 15, 1969, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Willard and Virginia (Hardebeck) Jackson.

During Penny’s younger years she enjoyed dancing, taekwondo, and modeling. From a very young age, Penny always had a love for animals, especially horses and her dog. During her high school years, she proudly rode the North Decatur “Charger” horse for school events. She graduated from North Decatur in 1987.

Along with her love for animals, she also enjoyed motorcycles and fishing. Penny worked several years at KB Specialty Foods in Greensburg.

Penny is survived by her mother: Virginia; fiancé: David Tungate; brothers: Tony (Diann) Jackson and Keith Jackson; sister: Amanda (Chris Kieras) Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Willard Jackson.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A funeral service will be held following visitation at 12:00 pm. Burial will be held at Union Baptist Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Greensburg Decatur County Animal Shelter.
