Robert "Bob" Risse

Robert “Bob” Risse, age 56 , of Greensburg, Indiana, passed away on July 23, 2025. In a final testament of his love for wife Barbara, he gave his life trying to save hers.

He was born on September 24, 1968, in Berlin, Germany, to Gerhard and Theresia ("Pat") Risse. Bob was a man of quiet strength, deep loyalty, and a sense of humor that could cut through tension and bring a smile when it was needed most.

Over the course of his life, Bob worked in several roles. He served as the club manager at the Topper Club in Germany, and the Food and Beverage Director in Iwakuni, Japan, for the US military as a civilian, a sales manager at Best Buy, and eventually founded a family-run computer repair shop "Simplied Computing" in Venice, Florida.

He married Barbara Ann (Berkemeier) Risse on July 31, 2024. Though their time together was brief, it was filled with deep affection and true companionship.

Bob is survived by his father, Gerhard (Natalie) Risse of Venice Florida; his brother, Gary (Jo Ann) Risse of Fortville Indiana; his sisters, Karola Crawford of Seminole, Florida, and Louise (Arturo) Lopez of Palestine, Texas, his sons, Ryan and Roland Risse of North Port, Florida; his nephew and godson, Marcus (Zawadi) Lange of San Bruno, California, his uncle Reinhold Prisslinger and aunt Birgit Linder (of Germany). He is also remembered by many friends and extended family members who were touched by his generosity and humor.

He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Risse; his first wife, Julia Risse; his sisters, Irene Benson and Patricia Risse; his mother, Theresia (Pat) Risse; and his grandson, Tucker Risse.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM.
