Sylvester W. "Sy" Kohrman

Sylvester W. “Sy” Kohrman, 84, Greensburg, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at the St. Francis Health Care Facility in Indianapolis. Born, March 5, 1936 in Decatur County, Indiana, he was the son of Bernard W. and Edna I. (Ramer) Kohrman.  Sy graduated in 1954 from Greensburg Community High School. He was a farmer and a truck driver.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Greensburg Country Club, and the St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was married to Irene F. Nieman on May 7, 1955 and she survives. He is also survived by four children, Mike (Kathy) Kohrman, Greensburg, Paula (Scott) McCoy, Greensburg, Mark (Patricia) Kohrman, Sunman, Rick (Deb) Kohrman, Greensburg; one sister, Mary Bostic, Greensburg; ten grandchildren, Dan, Kimberly, Holly, Ben, Kevin, Melissa, Travis, Dustin, Cody, and Jenna; eighteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Susan Ann Kohrman. Due to the recent public health safety mandate of limited gatherings, a private graveside service will be held for the immediate family at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg with Rev. John Meyer officiating.
